Education Committee
The Education Committee acts as the policy making body of ABE. It comprises a number of distinguished professors and academics with many years' experience of UK and international education.
Dato' Dr Tan Tiong Hong (Chairman)
Former member of the Malaysian Parliament (1978-1986); Deputy Minister of Education and Deputy Minister of Finance in the Malaysian Cabinet, and Deputy Minister in the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office.
Former Senior Associate Member at Saint Anthony's College, Oxford University (1986-1992).
Former Group Managing Director for Guoco China Investment Limited (1993-1997).
Executive Chairman of CAM International Holdings Ltd "CIHL", listed in the main board of the Singapore Stock Exchange (1998-current).
Dr John Hebden (Chair of Examiners)
Dr Hebden is a former Head of the Management School, University of Salford.
John Potter (Chief Examiner in Business Information Systems)
Mr Potter is a University Lecturer and Consultant in BIS.
Professor Tom Baum (Chief Examiner in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality)
Prof Baum is a Professor of International Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Director of Postgraduate Courses at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
Professor Anne Britton (Chief Examiner in Business Management & Financial Management)
Prof Britton is a former Assistant Dean and Head of School of Accounting and Financial Services, Leeds Business School, Leeds Metropolitan University.
Emeritus Professor Mike Harvey
Prof Harvey is a former President, ACCA and AAT; also Emeritus Professor, London Metropolitan University.
Lyndon Jones (Founder Chairman, ABE)
Lyndon has over 50 years' experience in education. This includes establishing ABE in 1973. Over thirty years later, Lyndon still travels the world to meet with new colleges, ministers and students.
Doctor Penelope Hood
Doctor Hood is the Director of Studies at Anglia Ruskin University, visiting academic at the Postgraduate Institute of Management, Sri Jayewardenepura University (Sri Lanka) and a member of the Academy of Management Science, Sri Lanka.
Mr Paul Reynolds (Chief Examiner for the Marketing Programme)
Paul Reynolds spent a number of years in industry working for, amongst others, Fitch Lovell plc, Imperial Metal Industries Ltd (IMI), Sketchley Ltd, and British Gas plc. At present he is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing in the Huddersfield University Business School (HUBS) UK, and Visiting Professor in the School of International Business, Omsk State University, Siberia, Russia. He is the co-author of eight marketing textbooks and has published widely in international conference proceedings and academic journals.
Dr John Stoddart, CBE
Dr Stoddart is a former Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University; former Chairman of the Higher Education Quality Council and the Education Counselling Service.
Dr Ted Johns (Chief Examiner in Human Resource Management)
Dr Johns is Chairman of the Institute of Customer Services (ICS) and was formerly Head of the Personnel Management Division at Thames Valley University.
