Lyndon Jones - Founder Chairman

Lyndon has over 50 years' experience in education. This includes establishing ABE in 1973. Over thirty years later, Lyndon still travels the world to meet with new colleges, ministers and students.

Christine Gill - Deputy Chief Executive

After ten years experience in the life assurance field, Christine has worked at ABE for almost 30 years. She has travelled extensively on ABE business and manages a small number of countries. These include Mauritius and, with our representatives, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Jim Davie - Qualifications Director

Jim spent 25 years at the Chartered Institute of Bankers as their Publications and Examinations Manager. Since joining ABE Jim has been responsible for the production of examinations, syllabuses and tuition material.

Steven Harris - Director of Education

Steven worked in the F.E sector, as a lecturer and programme leader, for 15 years before moving into educational management. For the last 8 years he has worked with awarding bodies, looking at issues relating to QA and QD as well as commercial considerations. Prior to taking up his current post with ABE, he was also ABE's Qualifications and Assessment Manager and so brings continuity and depth of knowledge to the position.

Mike Askew - Director of IT

Mike has studied and worked in Information Technology for the past 20 years, beginning his career as an IT Manager for a London Business Link and then for a London Training and Enterprise Council. He then went on to work as an IT Consultant for the National Business Angels Network before moving into the Education Sector in 2004 and joining ABE two years later. Mike brings a wealth of technical knowledge and practical experience to the role.

Lauren Bloxham - Marketing Manager

Lauren joined ABE in May 2007 from one of the UK's largest further education providers and brings 5 years of marketing & promotions experience to the ABE team. As Marketing Manager at ABE, Lauren will be responsible for overseeing ABE communications including the quarterly e-newsletter, exhibitions, advertising and promotional activity, ensuring that ABE is represented consistently throughout the world.

Joe Phelan - Quality and Assessment Manager

Joe has worked in the education sector for over 10 years, mostly in a major awarding body. Since joining ABE in 2007, Joe has been responsible for all pre and post examination processes as well as the maintenance of our QCA accreditation. In addition Joe is also responsible for the production of examination material and ensuring that they are QCA compliant.

Jon Swindell - Publications Manager

Jon became ABE's first dedicated Publications Manager in 2007. Having worked in education for over 4 years, Jon is responsible for producing all of ABE's publications, from tuition resources to marketing materials. As Managing Editor of Student Focus, Jon is always keen to hear views and stories from ABE's global network of students.

Kenneth Tan - Membership Manager

Kenneth joined ABE as Assistant Registrar in 2000. His background in business and IT was ideal for this role. Ken assesses qualifications from all over the world for entry and exemption purposes. He also manages membership and registration areas, giving support and advice to all our members and colleges.

Maria Wejshag - Head of Business Development

Maria joined the Education Department at ABE in 2006. Her background in policy development was well suited for the role which included the implementation of new QCA related policies. Since becoming the Business Development Manager in early 2007, Maria has undertaken extensive travelling on behalf of ABE worldwide. She has also worked closely with ABE’s university partners in formulating articulation agreements.
