Privacy Statement

The Association of Business Executives respects the privacy of users who visit the ABE website. All information you supply to this site will be used solely by The Association of Business Executives and will not be sold to any third parties.

Any personal information provided by you to ABE through the use of this website will only be used for the following purposes:

  1. updating and enhancing membership records
  2. defining areas of interest to you, improving the website to meet users' habits and requirements and compiling information relating to users' movements across the website
  3. advising you of other ABE products and services which may be of interest.

By submitting your personal data via the website, you are consenting to the processing of your personal data for the purposes and by the means set out above.

This data protection and privacy policy statement relates solely to the information provided by you on the website.

The Association of Business Executives maintains a strict "no-spam" policy. Your email address will not be sold or transferred to a third party under any circumstances without your consent.

If you provide us with your email address, it will only be used for the purposes specified at the time. We may send, on occasion, emails to offer you the opportunity to sign up for a new service or take part in a student survey.

When you request a web page, image, or any other content from the ABE website, it is usual for your web browser software to automatically send us your computer's domain name, IP address, software model and version, operating system and screen resolution. It is not usual for your web browser software to transmit to us your email address. We may use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us develop the ABE website and our services, and we may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

"Cookies" are small text files that a website can use to recognise repeat users. The ABE website (at www.abeuk.com) does not use cookies. However other websites that may be used by ABE to provide features such as online surveys may use cookies to recognise visitors and more quickly provide personalised content or grant unimpeded access to that website. Generally, cookies work by assigning a unique number to the user that has no meaning outside of the website that he or she is visiting. Most browsers have a feature that allows the user to refuse cookies or issues a warning when cookies are being sent. However, certain features accessed via these external websites (such as surveys) may not function properly without cookies.

The above policies are applicable to the publicly accessible website of The Association of Business Executives, accessed via the website address www.abeuk.com (the ABE website).

They do not cover the ABE Student Site (accessed via the student area link). This area is a separate, private website which uses different technologies and can be accessed only by ABE students.

The ABE website contains links to the websites of other organisations, such as colleges and universities. The Association of Business Executives is not responsible for the data policies, content or security of any linked websites.

Should we revise this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version on the ABE website.
