ABE launches the Certificate of Unit Achievement

Picture representing L7 study

The Certificate of Unit Achievement can be ordered by learners who have successfully completed one or more ABE unit/s but have yet to achieve their full ABE qualification.  The Certificate serves as evidence of achievement so far and can demonstrate knowledge in specific subject areas.  It can be particularly useful if you have to take a break from your studies or you have commitments which mean you cannot achieve your full ABE qualification for an extended period.

The service is available to anyone who has successfully passed a unit from our current portfolio but, unfortunately, cannot be back dated to qualifications offered before December 2011.

Questions and answers

What is a Certificate of Unit Achievement?

A Certificate of Unit Achievement is a verification of achievement in a particular academic area.  It lists the title of the unit which has been completed successfully and indicates its credit value and level of achievement.  It does not however state the title of the overall qualification which you are working towards.

Will the Certificate of Unit Achievement show all the units I have passed?

No, the Certificate of Unit Achievement is proof of passing an individual unit so it cannot list more than one unit.   A separate Certificate of Unit Achievement order form and payment would need to be supplied if you wanted a Certificate for more than one unit.

Who can apply for a Certificate of Unit Achievement?

The Certificate of Unit Achievement may be issued to learners who have not completed a full ABE qualification but who have achieved Grade C or above for an individual unit.

It is only available for units completed under the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) (after December 2011).

How quickly can I receive a Certificate of Unit Achievement?

From receipt of completed form, with proof of identity and payment, we commit to producing your certificate in no more than seven to ten working days.  Certificates will be dispatched by post so please allow some time for transit.
