How to become an ABE learner
There are two simple steps to studying for an ABE qualification:
Step 1: Decide which qualification you wish to study.
If you are undecided Business Management is a good place to start because you get an all-round grounding in business and with ABE you can easily opt to add in a particular discipline at a later stage. Click here to find out more about our qualifications.
Step 2: Choose a centre (or college) and enrol on their next ABE course. Click here to find a study centre near you.
This available for our Diplomas and the Certificate in Business Essentials. It is a popular option for people who want the flexibility of studying in their own time and at their own pace and ABE provides comprehensive online resources to support the studies of all learners.
However, in order to become a self-study learner you will still need to register with an ABE accredited centre (or college). This is because the centre will act as your exam and assignment hub. Centres will charge for this service so please confirm any additional costs directly with your preferred provider.

Your centre may offer additional support to provide you with a blended learning experience. This will give you the flexibility of self-study combined with the benefit of support and advice from an accredited ABE centre.
How to become an ABE self-study learner
Choose a centre, make sure they accept self-study learners and confirm what fees they may charge for this service and, if so, register with them for your ABE qualification.
You will then have access to the study resources and can start working through your qualification. Once you feel you have mastered a unit, simply book onto the exam or assignment (you can use our past papers and examiners' reports to test your knowledge prior to booking). A great advantage of ABE is that units can be studied in any order and over any time period so take as much or as little time as you need.
Please note, our Business Start-up qualification and short awards are not available for self-study.
