Being a student who is pursuing ABE has taught me so much: right from being practical, to teamwork and also how to build myself for a better future.
Ismat is currently studing for her ABE Level 5 Diploma and hopes to expland her knowledge in human resource management. Here is her story:
"When I was in high school, I felt like I needed to just get through, and the opposite of that is happening with me as I am studying ABE, I have loved ABE right from the beginning and studying everyday was just something I did as a daily routine.
After completing Level 3, I felt like ABE really is for me. I continued further with Level 4 foundation and later on full Diploma where I achieved the top paper. I am now on Level 5 and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
The reason I chose ABE was the uncertainty of the career I wanted to choose, hence after my IGCSE’s, I reviewed ABE and I wanted to do it because of its many options.
My lecturers, right from Level 3 have been so co-operative with me, whenever I needed assistance with questions or assignments, they have always helped me, and I appreciate them for doing so.
ABE has gained recognition in Dar es Salaam which makes it much easier for all ABE members to get a job. This provides motivation for us to study ABE as we are able to choose a job we are satisfied with.
ABE not only consists of session’s assignments, rather it is a ladder to climb for achieving great heights and success in the near future.
After completing the whole ABE course, I hope to work for a company as an intern, for at least a year or two, after that I want to apply for a degree in a university based in Tanzania in order to enhance my knowledge for Human Resource Management.
One of the most successful ways of studying for me is attentiveness while in class, because once I understand the whole topic it’s easier for me to study, which I do after every two days to refresh my mind. I also ask any questions that I have regarding the lectures. Finally, I always solve past papers and discuss them with my friends.
I thank everyone who has helped me through this journey and hoping their support will still be there until I complete the ABE programmes, from my family and friends who have morally supported me to my lecturers at FBTC, thank you so much for teaching me and always assisting me."
