ABE and Gia Dinh University (GDU), Vietnam, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities for expanding transnational education (TNE) and strengthening academic collaboration between ABE, GDU and universities in the United Kingdom.
The agreement was signed by Assoc. Prof. Pham Van Song, Rector of Gia Dinh University, and Mr. Rob Kindness, Sales Director of ABE, during the International Conference on Education Cooperation in the Digital Era (IECEE 2026), held on 8–9 October at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Through this partnership, ABE and GDU intend to explore the development of joint TNE pathways leading to Bachelors and Masters degrees in collaboration with UK universities. ABE Diplomas will serve as a potential academic bridge, helping learners build relevant knowledge and skills while creating opportunities to progress to further study, subject to the entry requirements of each university.
The MoU also provides a framework for exploring an ABE Accredited Centre at GDU, alongside joint conferences, seminars, workshops and student exchange activities.
This partnership reflects both organisations' commitment to internationalisation, educational innovation and expanded learning opportunities. By connecting Vietnamese higher education with UK qualifications and university progression routes, ABE and GDU aim to help students pursue their academic ambitions and prepare for an increasingly globalised world.
Following the signing ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Sau, ABE’s representative in Vietnam, has been working closely with the GDU team to establish an ABE Accredited Centre at Gia Dinh University and advance the necessary documentation for programme registration with Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
We are currently developing two key Transnational Education (TNE) programmes: a BA in Business Management and a BA in Digital Marketing Management. Both programmes are designed to combine ABE Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas with a final-year top-up programme offered by partner universities in the UK.
These pathways will provide Vietnamese students and learners from other countries in the region with the opportunity to study at Gia Dinh University and, upon meeting the relevant academic and progression requirements, earn a Bachelors degree awarded by a UK university. Through this collaboration, ABE and GDU aim to expand access to internationally recognised UK higher education qualifications and create new opportunities for students to advance their academic and professional careers.
