ABE gives all members a world-class digital learning package

We are delighted to announce that from the week commencing 31st January,  we are introducing our most exciting membership benefit to date: the ABE Edge. No other exam board offers anything comparable as part of its standard membership package.

Assessment strategy provides ABE learners with a greater advantage

When planning our Global Assessment Strategy for 2022 we looked ahead to a time when the impact of COVID is diminishing, and assessments could be considered on merit alone.  This involved detailed analysis of assessment data, research, discussions with stakeholders, and academic input. As a result, we can confirm our assessments globally will be a mix of assignments and Timed Open-Book Exams (Timed OBEs).  Rather than testing memory, Timed OBEs test a learner’s ability to apply their learning in a real business context.

ABE Malawi own a ride winner is announced!

The ABE Malawi Own a Ride draw has taken place in London.  All eligible entrants were allocated numbers and, using a Random Number Generator, a member of ABE’s board pressed the button to generate the winning number.

ABE is the Exporter of the Year finalist

We are delighted to announce that ABE has been shortlisted as Exporter of the Year by the Federation of Awarding Bodies. This stems from our ongoing response to the pandemic and its repercussions.  Throughout the pandemic, we have continued operating transnationally despite the varied and complex challenges faced by different countries around the world.  It is a source of immense pride that during the height of COVID disruption we did not cancel a single exam, or ‘calculate’ any results.   Adapting our assessments and working closely with centres to keep learning on track, has allowed us to successfully continue exporting our qualifications.

It’s the ABE way to go beyond what is necessary.  It’s about giving back and making a difference.  With this in mind, we have appointed two ABE ambassadors who personify these values: Selveena Parmanum from Mauritius and Sanjeevika Dissanayake from Sri Lanka.

ABE launches sustainability audit

Inspired by the launch of ABE Endorsed KidsSDGs, we are involving all staff in an organisation-wide sustainability audit. As an organisation, ABE is committed to supporting UN sustainable development goals (SDG) and in recent years we have achieved much, but this does not mean we cannot improve further and we are not complacent. To tie in with the launch of the KidsSDGs programme, we have challenged the ABE team to look at their area of work and consider ways in which we can go further towards meeting the SDG agenda.
