ABE is delighted to announce the launch of Business Builder – an engaging new entrepreneurship programme designed to help schools equip young people with the confidence, creativity and practical business skills they need for the future.

Designed for students from age 12 and above, Business Builder takes learners on a practical journey from identifying business opportunities to developing a business plan and presenting their ideas. Through ten interactive sessions, students learn by doing, discussing and reflecting, gaining real-world experience in business, finance, leadership and entrepreneurialism.

As technology and artificial intelligence continue to transform the workplace, employers are placing increasing value on skills such as problem-solving, creativity, communication, adaptability and entrepreneurial thinking. Business Builder has been developed to help schools nurture these essential future skills through engaging, practical learning.

"When we set out to develop Business Builder, we wanted to create something genuinely practical. Success isn't defined by whether someone starts a business. It's about having the confidence to recognise opportunities, solve problems and create value. That's the thinking behind Business Builder, which helps young people develop the entrepreneurial mindset and practical skills that will serve them wherever their future takes them," said Linda Wilkin, Director of Marketing and Product.

The programme covers a wide range of contemporary business topics, including market research, competitive advantage, marketing, sustainability, finance, business structures and social enterprise. Throughout the programme, students continually develop and refine their own business ideas before presenting a final business plan.

Business Builder has been designed with teachers in mind. No specialist business knowledge is required, with every session supported by PowerPoint presentations, detailed lesson plans, activity handouts and links to supporting videos. Schools can deliver the programme as part of their curriculum or as an enrichment activity.

Students who complete the programme receive an ABE digital certificate and have the opportunity to progress to the ABE Level 3 Certificate in Business Start-up, providing a pathway to a recognised qualification.

Whether students go on to start their own business, join an organisation or continue their education, Business Builder helps them develop the confidence and commercial understanding to succeed in an ever-changing world.
