Bertha Chigalu from Malawi recently completed her Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management with ABE while balancing work and study. She highlights how ABE’s flexible and affordable learning approach enabled her to study at her own pace while building strong skills. After completing her ABE qualification she is planning to pursue a Bachelors degree. Here’s her full story:
''I am Bertha Chigalu, from Mangochi Malawi and I have recently achieved my Level 5 diploma. I am the second born child in a family of 3 children, I did my primary Education at New Era private School and I was later selected to Ntcheu Secondary school where I completed my secondary education. I applied at Lilongwe Technical College and I was selected to study an ABE qualification in Human Resource Management. After completing my Level 4 Diploma, I got a chance to work with the Malawi Electoral Commission as an Elections Management Device Operator during the 2025 General Elections while continuing with my studies at Lilongwe Technical College. It wasn't easy to get this kind of results but thanks to my supportive parents, friends and a special thanks to my Lecturer, Madam Wana.
ABE is flexible and affordable, allowing me to study at my own pace and it is also a internationally recognised qualification packed with knowledge on how to create, run and grow a business.
In Malawi ABE qualifications is considered at high regards by employers as well as the public because it produces graduates that are well trained in business and leadership skills enabling them to bring a great impact in different organisations.
Through ABE I have gained a lot of skills such as leadership, entrepreneurship and problem solving skills as well as many business management techniques that are valuable for success in my professional world. I am planning to apply for a Bachelor's degree with the aim of furthering my business skills.
I would like to advice my fellow students to stay focused, create a neat study plan and believing in themselves but mostly don't forget to pray.
