Clerisa-Marie Piggot completed both ABE Level 4 and Level 5 Diploma and plans to pursue a top-up degree in Business Administration from the University of Hertfordshire. Clerisa chose ABE for its worldwide recognition. Read her full story below:
''My name is Clerisa-Marie Piggot and I am an 18 year old proud Trinbagonian. I am an only child, and I grew up in a Catholic home and I am very involved in my church. My family is very supportive of all my academic decisions, and we celebrate all my successes.
My ABE journey with CTS College of Business and Computer Science began in September 2022 just after my successful completion of 9 CSEC (Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate) examinations. When I started, I heard about the Top Paper Award and the magnitude of awards CTS College have won in the past, however, I was still unaware of what it meant. I signed up for all 4 units offered by CTS College at Level 4 with an open mind but during the semester the workload became intensified. I struggled and encountered numerous challenges yet kept on pushing through with the support of my lecturers and the ABE team at CTS College.
As the semester came to an end, I was only able to complete 2 out of the 4 units in which I enrolled. I was still determined to repeat the remaining 2 and move on to the Level 5 Diploma, which I achieved in 6 months. As part of my future aspirations, I look forward to pursuing my studies at the bachelor’s degree level.
As Genesis 18:14 says ‘Is there anything that is impossible for God?’ and without God, none of this would be possible, but everything takes time. Today, as a Top Paper Awardee, I am honored and humbled to say that after many tears, sleepless nights, and coffee that hard work paid off.
I chose ABE because of its worldwide recognition, detailed course material, flexible schedules as well as the easy entry to degree programs.
Employers admire employees with ABE international qualifications because of their awareness to improve the workplace, and many former ABE students are now applying the knowledge they acquired to manage their own prosperous enterprises.
The best thing about studying with ABE is that it expands your tertiary-level educational horizon and allows you to explore your personal research and understanding skills. Its modules are challenging, organised, and educational on all facets of business life. ABE also provides an abundance of resources and a wide range of learning materials to ensure students’ success.
Personalised note-taking and reviewing classes were essential to my success with ABE. This helped me to clearly understand the course materials with the help of keeping focused whilst attending all classes. A key skill that I learned was time management amongst problem-solving, critical thinking, organisational skills, decision-making, financial analysis, strategic planning, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
My long-term career goals include gaining employment for an esteemed organisation as well as becoming an entrepreneur whilst gaining further knowledge and education in my field.
A special thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey, it was a much enjoyable learning experience. To the present students, do not give up as long as you work hard and put in the necessary efforts required where you will reap the rewards.
