After facing financial challenges and a delayed start to his studies, David discovered ABE and found the qualifications practical, accessible, and aligned with his ambitions. He says studying with ABE gave him the skills he needed to expand his business, which now employs over 30 people. Read his full story below:
''My name is David Mphande, I was born on 23 July 1975, from a humble family in a village called Chigadula, in the Eastern part of Zambia.
I started school in 1994 and completed it in 2000. I delayed completing my education due to financial strain. When I got employed as a Sales Representative in the African Life Assurance Company, I was motivated to study business. Therefore, I started studying with ABMA at one of the colleges within our country. The course was difficult due to the challenges of not having enough study materials specifically for ABMA. Fortunately, I was introduced by a friend to study ABE, which is highly recommended in Zambia.
Studying ABE has been great for me because study materials are readily available on the portal. The guidelines and the materials are well-connected with what I do in my business. It has been so easy for me to clear my courses due to having access to study materials.
I studied my ABE course at the ZCAS Institute in Zambia.
Organisations in Zambia easily hire graduates who have completed ABE qualifications due to its quality in the professional field.
I chose to study with ABE to improve my own company, which I am currently running as a Director. The company specialises in pest control. I started very small, and we have employed more than 30 people now.
I have gained skills like managing projects, leadership skills, innovation and many more. These skills have helped me expand my business.
My tips for a successful study are to work hard and concentrate. I always loved what I have proposed to achieve in life. One must have a focus in order to achieve goals.
My long-term career plans for the future have always been to start my own business. Even when I was working for a different company, my heart was not settled because I was always eager to start something on my own.''
