The courses offered by ABE have not only equipped me with the knowledge of running my business effectively but also enabled me to think outside the box by making innovative and critical decisions. My ABE knowledge has equipped me with cutting-edge ideas that would allow my business to remain competitive and have permanency.

After travelling and building a career, business owner Dionne, chose ABE to help her manage her own business more effectively.  Dionne is a passionate advocate women in leadership positions and is also a keen singer-songwriter.  Here's her story:

Having a sound education opens the door to numerous opportunities and having ABE qualifications is no different. It creates endless possibilities. We live in a world with constant changes, and simply winging it can prove costly or ineffective. As a business owner coming from an accounting background, there were a few fundamentals that were lacking. The courses offered by ABE have not only equipped me with the knowledge of running my business effectively but also enabled me to think outside the box by making innovative and critical decisions. My ABE knowledge has equipped me with cutting-edge ideas that would allow my business to remain competitive and have permanency.

I was born in Guyana but spent a few years living on the Caribbean twin islands of Antigua and Barbuda. I also had a short stint in St. Maarten. Before venturing into a partnership with my now husband, I worked in the government and private sectors. I believe that each job held was a stepping stone that has catapulted me into where I am today. I have three sons and foster a girl whose mother died from HIV. My story is simple yet profound because of my beliefs that are grounded in my Christian faith. This is where my singer/ songwriter interest is also based.

I’m grateful for all my life experiences, whether good or bad, for they have molded me into who I am today. I am passionate about women in leadership positions, for we were created to do exploits even if given the bare minimum. Women are diamonds, beautiful, unique gems who are created under pressure.
