The best thing about studying with ABE is the fact that it creates a platform for self-creative knowledge. You can study at ease, from a wide range of options, at a very convenient pace, with the availability of enough study material, it gives the opportunity to do research. You can be at forums which allow one to do their best and come out with excellent grades whilst pursuing any career in life with confidence. I think that’s a good thing and it’s a kudos to ABE.

Businesswoman Rugiatu wants to progress academically and use her knowledge to build her business, FINOR Designs, to support the economy and create opportunities for young people #ABEway.  She tells us study with ABE has helped her gain further respect for diversity and gender, saying, "ABE has helped me establish and maintain an effective partnership and a good working relationship in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment." Here's her story:

"I am a Sierra Leonean from Freetown. Born from an extended family background, adopted to another family (my aunt) that actually schooled me. Married to Babatunde Morgan a graphics designer artist and lithographer who has been a pillar of support to every move in my academic pursuit so I’m grateful to God for him and for this achievement. I have a daughter Ijeoma. We have a registered business called ‘’FINOR DESIGNS’ FINOR is actually an inspiration he got from my local dialect meaning ‘fine things’.

I have a certificate in international finance and debt management from Geneva an online course, a diploma in International Relations and Human Resource Management. My first diploma in international Relations from Milton Margai College of Education and Technology and my second Diploma in Human Resource Management with the Association of Business Executive (Abe UK then) (through IPAM) earned me opportunities to work in both national and international organizations. I did an Internship at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, upon completion of my diploma I got a job at Diakonia International Services for Counselling, Evangelism Teaching as a Secretary, worked for a while then got another job with The Special Court for Sierra Leone in Freetown and the Hague Holland as an Outreach Assistant and later administrative clerk for few years then worked at World Health Organization (WHO) as a Data Entry Operator.

When I sat my West African Senior Secondary Exams I had some challenges financially and was not able to enrol immediately with a university, later I applied at IPAM one of the universities of Sierra Leone for a course in human resource.  While I was waiting for admission I came across ABE UK brochure from a lecturer who actually enlighten me on all the courses and the advantages of studying with ABE so I decided from there to withhold my application to IPAM and took the form and enrolled for Level 4 with ABE UK.  I am glad I made that decision because studying with ABE not only earned me a qualification but one with a greater opportunity to get good jobs with an edge over others and I can explore to acquire more knowledge and innovations.

My immediate plans will be securing a good job to match my professional qualification at a credible intuition, with good earning power. I’ll be able to add a burst to our business buy equipment’s/machines and try to get a bigger office space for employees (in printing, graphics designing).

Studying ABE has helped me gain vast experience in my line of work as an HR Person. It has developed my knowledge to be effective and productive with a sense of respect for diversity and gender which is a motivating ability to colleagues and institutions. Also studying with ABE has helped me establish and maintain an effective partnership and a good working relationship in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment, I believe with ABE qualifications I have the confidence to explore higher heights in my career.

Success is a deliberate effort. Getting your goal means extra sacrifices and self-discipline. You have to forgo certain enjoyable things for any achievement in life. Success is not something you attain without putting in effort, however. It is a mindset you must adopt to accomplish your goals and grow as a person, and it takes hard work depending on your perception of success. Commitment to pursue success is motivational. Remaining focused on your plan is vital to achieving any goal based on the reality of your expectations. Having a positive mindset is all about believing in yourself and your ability to succeed. So it is important to replace any negative thoughts with positive ones in order to motivate yourself to keep trying no matter what challenges come your way.  Be positive, goals are not instantaneous it takes practice and discipline to achieve, so it is vital to think and be sure about the course positively.

After completing my Masters (Level 7) establishing and exploring the printing, graphics and design world will be one of my priorities,   I want to create jobs and give opportunities to young people training them for the future in the world of technology and innovation. What I have gained and experience as a human resource person and individual will help me bring my dreams to reality for change to my country and the world as a whole."
