Silvester chose ABE to help him achieve his long-term ambition to form and run his own successful company. Here's his story:
"I am a twenty-seven-year-old boy from the Southern part of Malawi, the firstborn in a family of five. I am a holder of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) and am a continuing student studying Business Management at PACT College Blantyre Malawi.
Throughout my childhood, I wanted to become a journalist but when I grew up I started to understand that it is no longer easy for one to get a job in my country and that salaries are poor so I switched my mind to studying business in order to have my own source of income and create jobs. Having this goal in my country is similar to building castles in the air because there are many factors that can lead to failure especially the cost of capital for one to start a strong business and poor political conditions to develop the youth. The goal to have my own business became strong in me and I conducted research on how best to get the right applicable skills for the ultimate choice for my career so I started studying Business Management under ABE in 2019 but financial problems have delayed me from hitting my target in time.
Apart from creating my own business, I have also discovered that ABE is also highly employable and a lot of students who undergo ABE courses are already employed in companies and are paid better salaries. My main target after I finish my ABE studies is to get a job as a source of income and work for approximately two years then open up my own business. I am sure that by three years of running my own business with skills that am obtaining from ABE I will become one of the most successful business owners. The best thing about ABE is having skills that are highly advanced to suit the international level as far as running and managing a business is concerned.
For one to be successful in studies all that is needed is to put God first, followed by hard work and discipline these will pay abundantly. My long-term plan for the future is to have my own personal business and I strongly believe that it will be a very good business since I am equipped with the right skills which are required to run a business perfectly at a world-class level."
