Vrunda completed her diploma in May 2023. She currently works as a Sales Executive at Guru Nanak Ramgarhia Sikh Hospital, marketing their services to patients and corporate partners. She enjoys exploring new opportunities, competitor analysis, and meeting new people. She recommends ABE studies for students, as it offers a wide range of qualifications and job opportunities and prepares students for the real world.

Here is Vrunda's story:

My name is Vrunda Gajparia and I am from Nairobi. I studied ABE at S.C.L.P Samaj Australian College. I started my course in July 2020 from ABE Level 4 (foundation), then moved forward to level 5 and 6 where I did my diploma and completed it in May 2023. I love exploring nature, traveling, and hiking a lot. I have been awarded a certificate for completing the gold level of the Presidential Award which was signed by former president Uhuru Kenyatta. I have various skills such as decision-making skills, communication skills, time management skills, relationship skills, planning, organising, researching, and analysing skills.

I work at Guru Nanak Ramgarhia Sikh Hospital where I work as a Sales Executive. Guru Nanak is a private hospital that deals with various services such as radiology, physiotherapy, laboratory, dental, optical specialist clinics, maternity, and other services. As a sales executive, my role is to market our services to the patients along with our corporate partners. In addition, I also call and visit other corporations and small facilities to market our Hospital to get new patients and make sure they are treated with exemplary services at an affordable price. Moreover, with the help of our marketing team, we conduct CSR activities where we do free health talks and medical check-ups for them within our facility. I also do competitor analysis along with making budgets for our medical camps and other programs that we organise. I also do patient follow-ups and ensure they are satisfied.

After completing my O-levels, I decided to pursue the ABE course where I specialised in marketing and completed level 6. While I was still in the process of completing my course, I joined Guru Nanak Hospital for an internship in the month of June 2022 and November-December 2022. During my internship, I worked as a receptionist which improved my communication skills, and time-management skills, as well as taught me more about customer relationships and satisfaction. By seeing the way, I worked during my internship, the CEO of Guru Nanak was pleased and opened an opportunity for me to work as their staff member and I now work with them as a Sales Executive.

I got to know about ABE as it was one of the courses my school was offering and my friends who were ahead of me had pursued it. With the help of their guidance, I decided to do ABE as it would allow me to join work or enrol in a Masters program without doing further degrees which were equal to the ABE qualifications. Pursuing ABE has allowed me to get work easily and get a higher position of Sales Executive, at the same time, has enabled me to enrol for higher positions in the workplace. However, after the results, I still want to pursue my Masters in Marketing. Completing ABE level 6 has also enabled me to enrol in to a Masters directly (which I will apply for after the certifications are issued) which will save on the time and cost I would have spent when undergoing another course.

What I enjoy most about my job is exploring more corporates, and doing competitor analysis as it exposes me to know what our rivals are doing. Moreover, I enjoy going to medical camps and visiting small facilities and corporations as it improves my skills of communication, confidence, and persuasive skills. I also enjoy meeting new people and interacting with them daily. Last but not least, I enjoy learning new things every time and improving on the skills I have or adding skills I never had.

I would like to advise new students to enrol in the ABE studies as it gives the student a wider option of places to study after completing their levels of qualifications. In addition, it also enables the student to enrol into both part-time and full-time jobs. ABE also allows the students to go for Masters and a top-up degree after completing level 6, and go for degrees after completing level 5. Studying ABE will enable them to explore more about both the specialisation they select as well as business management in general. It is a fun and helpful course to help students ready for the real world.
