Almost every subject requires us to analyse or evaluate a real-world company. It is interesting as then we come to know about the practical scenarios of management. I believe it is a distinctive feature of this course and it makes us competitive in the corporate sector.

Business Development Manager, Visuna, wants to become an entrepreneur who creates employment opportunities for young people and supports his economy #ABEway.  He tells us using the problem-solving skills he has gained from his ABE course has helped him reduce stress at work.  Here's his story:

"I’m Visuna Ayaskantha from Colombo, Sri Lanka. I  worked as a quality controller at Donnelly for 2 years and was formerly a Business Development Manager at VYS international.

ABE is a recognized qualification all over the world. My friends and office colleagues recommended me to do ABE and I also believe it will helpful for my career development and it will be a foundation for my higher studies. ABE is now becoming a trending qualification in Sri Lanka. Most of the students are enthusiastic to do this course due to its recognition in Sri Lanka and other countries as well.

ABE is a course designed to provide knowledge on both theories and the practical aspects. Almost every subject requires us to analyse or evaluate a real-world company. It is interesting as then we come to know about the practical scenarios of management. I believe it is a distinctive feature of this course and it makes us competitive in the corporate sector.

I have gained and improved lots of skills such as leadership, communication, critical evaluation, problem-solving, and teamwork.  As an example, problem-solving is an important skill I learned in this study. In my career as a manager, I am receiving many problems regarding office work. The theories I learned about problem-solving help me to arrange solutions for matters without hesitating. It has reduced much of my work stress for me.

Listening and understanding are vital for successful study. Moreover, regular attendance, doing homework and clearing up doubts by discussing them with your lecturer are some successful points for me to get this prize.

After completing ABE, I plan to register for an MBA programme.  I would like to be an entrepreneur who can generate more employment opportunities for youth in Sri Lanka and helps bring about a better economy in my country.
