''My name is Jamila Baptiste, and I am from the beautiful twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. I am currently pursuing my ABE Level 5 Diploma in Business Management and Human Resource Management, building upon a strong academic foundation that includes five CXC passes and a Certificate in Administrative Assistance.

I am a dedicated mother of two wonderful children, a 10-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter, who continue to inspire my personal and professional growth. I have a deep passion for hairdressing, and I enjoy expressing creativity through this craft. Outside of my studies and career interests, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends. My faith is also an important part of my life, and I value my relationship with God and active participation in church. My place of employment is at the St Augustine University of the West Indies as an Office Attendant.

I am committed to lifelong learning, personal development, and creating a meaningful impact in both my professional field and my community.

I chose to study ABE because it offers a globally recognised qualification that aligns perfectly with my career goals in Business Management and Human Resource Management. The programme provides a strong foundation in both practical and theoretical aspects of business, which is essential for building a successful and versatile career.

As a working mother of two, the flexibility of studying with ABE also allowed me to balance my academic goals with my family responsibilities. I appreciate that ABE is designed to empower individuals like me to advance professionally while gaining real-world knowledge and skills. This qualification not only supports my personal growth but also opens up greater opportunities locally and around the world.

I am currently studying my ABE Level 5 qualification at an ABE accredited centre, CTS College of Business and Computer Sciences LTD in Trinidad and Tobago. The institution provides a supportive learning environment and qualified tutors who are committed to helping students succeed.

In Trinidad and Tobago, ABE is well-respected and recognised by both the public and employers. It is valued for its practical approach to business education and its international standard. Many see it as a credible alternative to traditional degrees, especially because it prepares students for real-world business challenges.

After completing my ABE Level 5 qualification, I plan to advance to Level 6 and eventually pursue a degree in Business or Human Resource Management. I also aim to apply the knowledge gained to start and grow my own business while continuing to gain experience in the professional field.

The best thing about studying with ABE is the flexibility it offers. As a mother and aspiring entrepreneur, the ability to manage my studies alongside my family and personal commitments is invaluable. ABE also offers a curriculum that is relevant, engaging, and applicable to real-life business situations.

Studying with ABE has helped me develop essential skills such as time management, critical thinking, and strategic decision-making. I've also improved in communication and leadership, which are beneficial in both professional and personal settings. These skills have given me greater confidence in handling administrative tasks and managing responsibilities efficiently.

My top tip for successful study is to stay consistent and organised. Create a study schedule that works around your daily life and stick to it. Make use of all available resources, including past papers and study groups, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Also, take breaks and care for your mental well-being, it helps with focus and retention.

My long-term goal is to become a qualified HR professional and eventually establish my own business that offers both HR consultancy and beauty services. I am passionate about helping people grow, whether through employment opportunities or personal care, and I hope to make a meaningful impact in my community by combining both passions.''
