Jephthah chose ABE for its reputation and university progression routes. He said he gained essential business and leadership skills from project management to innovation, which are already making an impact in his career. Read his full story below:
''I am the sixth child from a family of seven children. I was born in the Mzimba district. I completed my primary school in Mzimba, and I studied my form one and two of Secondary school level in Mzimba. Then I moved to Dedza, where I completed my Secondary school at Umbwi Secondary School. In 2023, I applied for a diploma at Domasi Management College in Zomba and by God’s grace, I was selected after completing my ABE Level 4 Diploma. I started working with Vine Mart Catering Services as the Head of Department while continuing with my studies at Domasi Management College. To be honest, to achieve these kinds of results, it demanded a lot of effort, resources, encouragement and mentorship from my parents, siblings, mentors and destiny helpers from Primary till now.
ABE has an excellent international reputation, whereby achieving one of its best business careers is something worth celebrating and something that will continue to help me in my employment and entrepreneurial goals.
ABE holds a great and undeniable value amongst many well-known employers in Malawi, this is because of its excellence in advancing business education across the globe. In addition, ABE graduates are well trained in different business and leadership skills that bring great impact in different business organisations. I studied my ABE qualification at Mubarak Complex College.
I chose to study with ABE because it has an excellent and strong university progression pathway to a Bachelors or Masters degree. This provides an opportunity to someone who wants to be competent in their business and professional career. After completing my studies with ABE, I am planning to apply for a Bachelors degree with the aim of furthering my business skills and career.
ABE has equipped me with different skills demanded by employers in the modern workplace. For example, data collection skills, project management skills, teamwork skills, managerial skills, marketing skills, analytical skills as well and innovation skills. These skills have helped me in my workplace to be a leader, yet a student at school and also to be a great asset in my workplace and not a liability.
From my experience, to someone who wants to make his/her ABE studies enjoyable, simple and successful, train yourself to be organised by setting goals, take time to pray to God for your studies, never underestimate the place of mentors, believe in yourself and remain diligent. For example, I have my own mentors who always help me beyond my studies and even at my workplace, and I am grateful for my mentor, Pastor Aubrey Mwasinga and my boss at work, Sandra Mkoko.
Finally, I wish to practically utilise different business skills, theories and concepts I have gained from ABE by applying them in my own organisation in the near future.''
