One of the most amazing things about studying with ABE is their continuous improvements, flexibility and reorganisation to provide their students with the best learning experiences and outcomes possible.

Asongfack says her ABE studies have helped her become a strategic thinker and plans to use the knowledge she has gained to build her own business whilst doing voluntary work. Here's her story:

"I am 24 years old and I was born and raised in the south-west region of Cameroon. I am the second of three children. Throughout my primary and secondary education, I schooled in Tiko town, where I got my Ordinary and Advanced level certificate. I later moved to Buea, for my university studies where I attended AnB Accountancy. Some of my hobbies include reading, writing and watching documentaries.

My brother was an ACCA student by the time I completed high school. He knew about the ABE programme and recommended it to me. After extensive research and with guidance from my school, I decided to choose the ABE path.

Over the years as an ABE student, I have seen firsthand how ABE has increasingly gained visibility and acknowledgement in my country. More and more students are signing up for the programme every day. Employers in my country hold ABE certifications in high esteem. Most people, I have personally encountered, already know about ABE programmes and their certificates.

My immediate plan is to take a year off and do voluntary work while gradually setting up my business on the side.  One of the most amazing things about studying with ABE is their continuous improvements, flexibility and reorganisation to provide their students with the best learning experiences and outcomes possible. For example, at the start of this year, I learnt I was sick. I honestly did not know how I was going to finish my level 6 programme this year; which was my set target. However, thanks to the assignments and the open-book exams ABE introduced, I was able to study and run my assignments back and forth with my teachers even while I was in the hospital. Thank you ABE.

My studies with ABE has helped me become a strategic thinker, provided me with hands-on personnel management experience and given me a sense of efficiency with a flair for innovation.

My tips for successful study are:

  • Be organised
  • Draw up a study plan
  • Talk to your teachers if you are facing any difficulties with your school work
  • Join study groups either online or offline

My long term career plan is to be able to start up a business of my own. I already have a business plan I am currently working on and, with the knowledge I have gathered from the ABE programme, I know for sure that I will be able to achieve it. Right now I am starting small but thinking big."
