My plan is to go on to pursue education up to degree level and I will start at year three in one of the universities in Malawi. ABE will help me get further in the degree programme.

John chose ABE because it would allow him the flexibility he needed as a working professional.  He is using his qualification to progress onto the final stages of a degree and also to fast-track his career in management.  Here's his story:

"I am from Balaka district in Malawi.  I am married with two boys and I'm currently pursuing a Level 6 Diploma in Business Management with two subjects to complete.

I chose ABE because it is flexible - I can study at my convenience.  I wanted to move on from my previous job to where I am. I was working as a Commissionaire in the bank which was a low-grade job. I had to do my personal improvement plan to move to where I wanted to be i.e., where I am. It is in line with my current job as a bank Enquiries Consultant. I wanted to gain enough knowledge in business that would help me.

My plan is to go on to pursue education up to degree level and I will start at year three in one of the universities in Malawi.  ABE will help me get further in the degree programme.  I have gained knowledge of the business environment such as stakeholder management, finance, and managing risks - just to mention a few.

My tips for success are hardwork and determination and in the long-term I will work to reach the more senior management positions."
