This qualification provides you with essential knowledge to develop a career in the travel and tourism sector, underpinned by a foundation of general business knowledge. It also offers a springboard to higher-level study in related disciplines.
The qualification aims to:
- Develop employability-enhancing skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer care.
- Offer opportunities for progression to higher education or entry-level roles within tourism, travel, or hospitality organisations.
- Develop your understanding of the structure, characteristics, and importance of the tourism industry within a global context.
- Develop your’ understanding of the structure, characteristics, and importance of the hospitality industry within a global context.
- Provide knowledge of key operational and service areas, including travel, accommodation, food and beverage, and customer service.
In addition to the two compulsory units you select one of four optional Business units with the following aims:
